Interior solutions and wayfinding for the IN2IT invest-hotel
IN2IT is an invest-hotel in Saint Petersburg that pushes the boundaries of the traditional real estate and hospitality markets. It is not simply a residential building or a hotel, but a single organism in which every component of comfort has been thought through in detail and brought to life.
The goal of the project was to create a unified style of signs and wayfinding elements for orientation on the grounds and inside the IN2IT invest-hotel, and to develop recommendations on the placement of the wayfinding elements. The agency team was required to conduct an on-site audit, select references, develop a unique idea for the complex's wayfinding system and mock-ups of the wayfinding objects, select materials for production, and prepare technical drawings and a concept book.
To develop a high-quality concept, it was necessary not only to analyse the available materials, but also to conduct an audit with a site visit. The agency's architectural team took the necessary measurements and drew inspiration from the overall concept of the IN2IT invest-hotel. The specialists also held a kick-off briefing with the client and, based on the input received, compiled a set of references matching the style of the complex and the jointly chosen direction for the design solutions.
Following the first stage, it was decided that the visualisation of the idea should follow characteristics such as conciseness, minimalism, clarity and simplicity of meaning (intuitiveness). In other words, to logically continue the positioning of the IN2IT brand as modern, «touch-sensitive», technological, accessible and simple. The brand's «understated» and intuitive aesthetics dictated that the idea be realised through rounded, smoothed forms that are easy to perceive and immediately feel like something understandable and comfortable that helps people move smoothly through all the spaces.
The visual concept is thus inspired by the very name and corporate identity of the invest-hotel. The round elements soften the many corners and straight lines, adding harmony and balance to the space. On the other hand, the concept is strongly influenced by the geometry of the residential complex, its strict forms and sharp angles.
The wayfinding solutions help people avoid getting lost and give the space additional dynamism and definition. All elements of the wayfinding system share a unified corporate colour, typographic and stylistic design.
The Brandson agency took on the development of the concept, drawings and mock-ups for production, the preparation of all cost estimates and the selection of a contractor to implement the project.
